Children & Adolescent
Your child’s well-being is our priority, and we are here to help them thrive.
At Tangled Minds, we focus on your whole well-being and provide personalized support for various health challenges you might face. We understand that everyone’s experience is unique. Whether you’re feeling anxious, sad, or just going through changes, our caring team is here to help you wherever you are in life.
We often work with young people navigating issues like anxiety, depression, bipolar mood disorder, and ADHD. Our goal is to offer compassionate care that helps you learn effective ways to manage these challenges, so you can take charge of your life and enjoy the things you love.
All our treatment plans are designed to not only address what you’re feeling now but also to help you stay healthy in the future through coping skills, education and practiced resilience. We believe in building a strong foundation for a healthy lifestyle.
What to Expect on Your First Visit
Medical History
We’ll ask about your health history, including any previous diagnoses or treatments. This helps us see patterns and identify any health risks.
Family History
Understanding your family’s health can help us figure out what you might be at risk for in the future.
You might need to have some lab tests done to help us understand your health better. While we don’t do lab tests at our office, we’ll give you a form to get them done at a lab you choose. We also offer special pricing for some tests to make sure you get quality care at a good price.
In addition to standard tests, we provide specialty testing options that can give us even more detailed information about your health, helping us fine-tune your treatment plan.
Our providers are here to support you through ongoing therapy in a safe and friendly environment. We use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which helps identify and change any negative thoughts or behaviors you might have. We might also use techniques like breathwork, mindfulness, meditation, drawing/coloring, and progressive muscle relaxation. Through these sessions, we can help you process past experiences, develop coping strategies, and establish healthy habits. Each session usually lasts about 40-45 minutes.
For younger children, we encourage parental involvement in the treatment process to ensure a supportive environment. For teens, we prefer parents to be involved but understand that those aged 15 and up can make their own decisions regarding their care.
Our team is experienced in managing medications and will help determine the right medication or supplements for you based on your assessment. We’ll regularly check in to see how the medications are working and make any necessary adjustments.
At Tangled Minds, we’re dedicated to helping you feel your best and supporting you every step of the way!
